Why Participate in the Census?

There are many reasons everyone should participate in the Census count next year. It is important to our community. Our local nonprofits use the data from the Census to prove our community has a need when they apply for Grants. Organizations who fund grants look at the statistics that applicants share about their community including information like the number of citizens in each age group, the average income, unemployment, and special needs to help make the decisions about which communities have the most need for the money they are giving.

 In addition:

Only statistics gathered by the Census are published. Your personal information such as your name and age is kept private for 72 years after the census is taken.
