The West Virginia Small Business Development Center has added two FREE small business training events to their calendar.
On
August 6 they are offering Human Resources for the Small Business Owner
and August 20 they will be discussing Risk Management/Planning for Pandemics
and Other Disasters.
Both
of these workshops will be presented by Jason Pockl, Esquire of Bailey &
Wyant, PLLC.

West Virginia Cares Act Small Business Grant Program Applications
Following his briefing Wednesday, Gov. Justice made applications available online for small businesses seeking to receive funding through the Governor’s West Virginia CARES Act Small Business Grant Program.
The initiative will provide $150 million of West Virginia’s CARES Act funding to qualifying businesses across the state. Any West Virginia-based small business, in existence on February 29, 2020, with 1-35 employees, will be able to apply for up to $5,000 in grant funding.
Businesses planning to apply must first register as a vendor with the State. Guidelines for the grants and instructions on how to apply are available at Grants.wv.gov.
Free Social Media Marketing Series
The West Virginia Small
Business Development Center along with West Virginia Northern Community College
is hosting a free Social Media Marketing series from the end of July
through mid-September. The trainings are online through Zoom and
scheduled on Tuesdays from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. If you know of anyone who
may benefit from these trainings, please help us spread the word so they don’t
