WEST VIRGINIA CARES ACT SMALL BUSINESS GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

Following his briefing Wednesday, Gov. Justice made applications available online for small businesses seeking to receive funding through the Governor’s West Virginia CARES Act Small Business Grant Program.

The initiative will provide $150 million of West Virginia’s CARES Act funding to qualifying businesses across the state. Any West Virginia-based small business, in existence on February 29, 2020, with 1-35 employees, will be able to apply for up to $5,000 in grant funding.

Businesses planning to apply must first register as a vendor with the State. Guidelines for the grants and instructions on how to apply are available at Grants.wv.gov.

WV Census Response Rate is Lower than Neighboring States

If you have not already responded, you still have time! The 2020 Census will determine how much funding WV gets from the federal government for the next 10 years! If you check the chart below, you will see how WV's response rate compares to that of its neighboring states. Our neighboring states range between 65.2% and 66.8%. Only 53.5% of WV residents have responded. Not only do we have a lower population, but fewer of our residents are being counted! If you know anyone who has not filled out their census form, please encourage them to do it now.

The Census is still hiring!

Workers are needed in Hancock, Brooke and Ohio Counties. The application is on-line 2020census.gov/jobs. The Positions are part time with flexible hours (20-40 hours per week and reimbursement for mileage). The Census is important, it effects our Communities and Representation in Congress. RB Digital Now Has More Magazines

Since July 1, changes have occurred in our RB Digital Digital account. The biggest one is that our selection of magazines has expanded! There are now over 3,000 titles listed. Some are one time only special editions and some are editions of the same publication based in different countries, but there is much more to choose from than we previously had. Because there are so many available, there is also a filter option which allows readers to sort what is available by subject or language.
